We stayed at the Bahia Principe Tulum in the Mayan Riviera. The first night we arrived, the dancers were dying for a swim so we let them have a little fun before all the work started.
Day two involved our first hot and very long daytime rehearsal at the Bahia Principe Coba. One of the most exciting parts was seeing our name and sign on the entertainment board!
Day three was a well needed day off. We had lots of sick kids – a migraine headache, a case of croupe, and the flu were a few things these little ladies pushed through to be a part of the show.
On the fourth day we were invited to perform at the Barcelo Maya Beach resort. We were bused in and the dancers had no rehearsal to prepare - but the show was fabulous and the theatre was packed. Two highlights included walking around in costume to promote the show beforehand and taking pictures with our fans afterwards.
Into the fifth day our rehearsal was shorter which meant the dancers got more beach time. The girls pulled off their best show at the Bahia Principe Akumal. And afterwards we stuck around to see one of our dads crowned Mr. Bahia – it was an honor.
Our last rehearsal and performance was at our very own resort. The dancers did extremely well and I couldn’t get over how much they had all grown – in dance ability, performance-wise and maturity.
The last day was spent doing whatever we wanted: getting hair braided, beach time, shopping time, or excursions. We had a group dinner, awards ceremony and danced the night away to the DJ at the lobby bar.
What a trip it was. A big thank you to our chaperones who worked all week taking great care of our dancers. You are such an important part of the trip and we couldn’t do it without you. We also had lots of help from families/parents who joined us as extras on the tour. I also greatly appreciated having two hardworking and hilarious sidekicks – Miss Alison and Mr. Roel, boy oh boy did we have fun.
And to top it all off we received fanmail (posted below)! We can’t wait for the next tour in 2014 to a new and exciting destination.
Hi,
We were in Mexico over the February break and saw your group perform at the Gran Bahai Akumel. We just wanted to tell you that your group was WONDERFUL!! The girls did a fantastic job, the lighting was great and our whole family loved the show! Congratulations to all the girls, as well as the instructors and parents -- you did a great job and were excellent ambassadors for Canada! Keep up the good work!

Hello -
This is just a short note of thanks and congratulations to your *amazing* dancers (and of course the instructors and parents behind them) for your recent show in Mexico.
We were just on vacation at the Gran Bahia (Akumal) and saw the hour-long variety show put on by your dancers two times, both at the Coba and Akumal stages. My 6 1/2-year-old daughter was absolutely fascinated by the talent and energy displayed by the girls. She still hasn't stopped talking about the performances and is begging me repeatedly to enroll her at your studio so she can dance "just like those girls." (Sadly, we're a little far away out here in Toronto.)
I could tell how much the people around us enjoyed the show as well. I hope your dancers are all hugely proud of themselves for work that was VERY well done.
All best, and congratulations,
Kristin C (and with a huge round of applause from a big fan of Snap, 6 yr old Nadia :)
